Eligibility for citizenship: To become a Canadian citizen, applicant must
- be a permanent resident
- have lived in Canada for at least 3 out of the last 5 years
- have filed taxes
- passed citizenship test (required only for applicants aged between 18 to 54 years)
- proven language skills in English or French
